Overview

House Amnithor is often referred to as the "War Guild". This guild has a recurring five year contract with the city of Drakkel and the broader Drakkellian Alliance to provide large numbers of trained professional soldiers. The Drakkellian Alliance maintains a standing army through the guilds and House Amnithor provides the bulk of those soldiers, some 20,000. These soldiers serve many functions. Some act as city guards for the five major cities patrolling the streets. Other units patrol the roads throughout the Alliance. And finally, numerous hundred man units guard the eastern border against incursions from Coalition territory and the Stench Bog.

In addition to its recurring city and national contracts, House Amnithor provides additional security for special city events, hires out soldiers and guards to other guilds when needed and even offers combat training and rents weapons and armor to those who can afford it.

Finally, this guild builds and rents out full sized siege engines, provides storage facilities and ensures safe transport with guarded caravans.

House Amnithor also builds siege engines for warfare, hires out contracted mercenary companies, provides storage facilities and ensures safe transport with guarded caravans. House Amnithor employs over 26,000 full time workers and warriors. This number does not include the dozens of small mercenary companies that it frequently works with. In total, House Amnithor can muster some 30,000 hardened warriors if necessary.

The cost to hire out a soldier from House Amnithor is typically 8sp per soldier per day. Sergeants cost 20 sp per day. Knights can be hired for 50 sp per day. Mounts can be provided for an additional 4 sp per day. (Knights always come with their own horse). Various deductions apply for hiring large numbers and/or extended periods.

The Guild Hall

The guild hall of House Amnithor was once a massive military barracks hall. It has since been rebuilt and expanded. This edifice of grey stone and slate tiled rooves is now home to the noble family, business operations, training facilities, treasure halls and barracks that house the men and wealth of this great house.
